Email bounces are caused by missing SPF records in DNS — You must know this!
Dear Valued Customer,
Recently, some customers reported being unable to send emails to the Fine Cause domain mailbox (@funecause.com.tw). They received system bounce-back notifications.
After investigation, we found that the sender’s domain name has not set up an SPF record (or the configuration is incorrect).
The SPF mechanism is mainly designed to prevent spam, phishing, and spoofed emails. Major systems such as Gmail, Yahoo, M365, and Chunghwa Telecom hiMail all check SPF records. This is why SPF is very important — set it up as soon as possible!
Next, add the SPF record value to the DNS server’s domain settings. Please select record type TXT, and enter the SPF value you need. Note that SPF values must not contain uppercase letters. Here are some examples:
If your mail server IP address is 192.118.0.6 and you use Google Workspace, your SPF record can be set as follows (IP + domain):
Example 1:
Record Type: TXT
ini
複製
編輯
v=spf1 ip4:192.118.0.6 include:spf.google.com -all
Example 2:
Record Type: TXT
If using Chunghwa Telecom hiMail (domain only is also acceptable):
arduino
複製
編輯
"v=spf1 include:spf.biz-mail.hinet.net ~all"
After setup, you can check whether your SPF configuration is correct using this free website:
MxtoolBox:
https://mxtoolbox.com/spf.aspx
Enter your domain name.
If all results show green check marks, your SPF is correctly set!
Please note: After modifying the TXT record, DNS updates may take 24–48 hours. You can then try sending emails again.
